The legalization and selling of drugs is an issue that has been debated and discussed for many years in America. Some believe that legalization would be the best way to fight the drug problem. That it would reduce the disease, violence and crime associated with the use of illegal drugs. In my opinion, legalization is not the answer. Making drugs legal would set America at a moral decline. By making drugs legal we are lowering the standards of our country. Drugs are dangerous and can not only harm the person using them, but also the persons that user comes in contact with. I believe drug policies and regulations should be fully enforced. Drugs simply create problems which effect society in several ways. The government has made several efforts to control drugs and their users, however, to most the problem appears too out of hand. The only resulting effect of legalizing illegal drugs, will be a negative one. There are no positive aspects of putting drugs on the streets with a label reading "legal." There are plenty of people in society that find enough trouble on their own without the help of their country. Legalizing drugs would have a devastating result that would affect society as a whole. Illegal drugs are very dangerous, and they should not be legalized for others to use and perhaps abuse. Many of these drugs affect a persons well being and doesn’t just effect them, but their family and friends. Many accidents, including car accidents and overdoses are a main cause from these illegal drugs. At the end of the day, such illegal drugs should not be legalized and sold in America, for these reasons.
