Legalizing Marijuana

The United States is second in the world in the rate of incarceration of 100,000 people. Over the past several years there have been a reported number of over 300,000 people that have been arrested for marijuana issues. There is an old saying “weed is a seed that grows in the ground, if God didn’t want it-it wouldn’t be around”. Marijuana is used for both medical and recreational pleasures. Medical marijuana is legal for doctors to prescribe to ill patients. The TCP in the marijuana calms down patients and leaves them relaxed. It is documented that patients that receive marijuana through smoking and taking pills have improved immune function compared to other patients taking placebo. Marijuana is one of the most common drugs in the United States and although currently it is illegal, there is no scientific proof that it is harmful or causes disease to the human body in any way shape or form. Opposed to medical marijuana, marijuana itself is actually is used every day and it’s not just for gang leaders on the drug trade, or regular drug users, it’s also for high tax payers, and hard-working people that are trying to support their family. Most upper class Americans smoke marijuana because one: they have the money to constantly buy it, and two: it relaxes them when they are in tight situations. Most Americans marijuana is teenagers because the TCP in the marijuana causes the person to feel calm and “high”. Like many other drugs marijuana is actually proven to not be harmful at all. While alcohol being the number one rate for deaths and other hard drugs in second, marijuana actually is not harmful at all. Responsible smokers are not a threat to society, but law enforcement makes them out to because of the illegal use. These people are just trying to keep stress away from their families, and yet they are arrested, jailed and to other families around they look like a possible threat to society. This causes millions of Americans to suffer, and it can actually bring financial hardship and depression too millions of Americans who only used the drug for responsible reasons. If the drug is not abused then it should be legal to the people are using it to only be relaxed and not for maniac behavior.  Responsible smokers are being caught and imprisoned and stereotyped as criminals for the wrong reasons. They are not the problem and it needs to be stopped. Politicians and prohibitionists that have been telling scare stories to try to let Americans know that marijuana is a harmful drug needs to be stopped. It’s been a long 60 years and needs to be rejected. Marijuana is the top used drug in America because it is not harmful at all and if used responsibly cannot be addictive, but like any drug marijuana can still be abused. The only way marijuana can be dangerous is when it is over used because this causes bad behavior and it’s like being under the influence of alcohol and can make someone do stupid things. It can also cause short-term memory loss, but only while under the influence. Marijuana is not harmful and does not cause permanent memory loss at all. Marijuana is used for relaxation, that’s why it is legal for doctors to prescribe medical marijuana to their patients.  It is proven scientifically that there is no lethal harm to marijuana and it does not cause symptoms such as: brain damage, genetic damage, or damage the immune system. Again if not used responsibly, the continued use of smoking marijuana can cause bronchitis. Although respiratory health problems can be avoided if ingested. Some methods are to bake the marijuana into foods such as brownies, or even vaporized through a common tool caused a vaporizer. Head shops that often sell tobacco products, also sell paraphernalia for marijuana products such as: vaporizers, bongs, bowls, pipes, etc. If the law really were cracking down on marijuana smokers they wouldn’t accept the head shops to be permitted to sell...
